If your dream is to make kitesurfing your way of life, while meeting new people on the most beautiful beaches across the globe, join our IKO kite instructor courses in Sri Lanka this September. Why not work in places where others plan their holidays to. Our courses will be headed by Xavier Roussos, who is part of the core examiner team at IKO. International Kiteboarding Organization (IKO) provides internationally recognized certification to kitesurfing instructors so they can work anywhere in the world, teach and have fun. We are delight to have Xavier with us who would be hosting our upcoming IKO kite instructor courses in Sri Lanka.
Here’s what Xavier has to tell us:
Hello! My name is Xavier. I started kiting in 2001 and was quickly passionate about it! In parallel to my job in finance, my sister and I decided to create the first Greek association for kiteboarding. That’s why in 2002, I attended the training to become an IKO certified instructor.
I then started teaching around the world and in 2004 followed the training to become an examiner. Two years later, I was trained to become an IKO Training Master, the highest level in the training programs. Today, I also participate in the updates of the IKO standards and manuals.
This wonderful adventure with kitesurfing has allowed me to discover beautiful places. I have met people from different cultures and backgrounds all sharing the same passion!
This September, Xavier is looking forward to meeting you on the water in Sri Lanka.

Why should you become an IKO kitesurfing instructor in Sri Lanka?
Learn where others come for a holiday! In Sri Lanka, sun shines throughout the year, where the ocean and lagoons are 28-30°C warm and trade winds are blowing strong all the way through summer.
Sri Lanka is open to visitors now. If you are vaccinated, you just need to take an on-arrival PCR and with a negative result and you are good to go, kite freely and move around the country.
Why should you come to Kappalady for an IKO kite instructor course?
